Sam was glad they were going out. Not, "Going out" going out, but he was glad they were getting out of the Young Justice headquarters and getting something to eat and seeing a movie. He was secretly amused that they were essentially getting Cissie and Bart to go on a date, even if they didn't know it. Even Sam could tell that there was something between the two of them that was more than just close friends. So, this was sort of a secret "Make Cissie and Bart go out on a date" thing, and he was cool with that.

"So there's really a chance that we're all back on the island, sleeping, and this is some sort of weird dream?" Sam asked.

"Not a chance. That's really what's happening." Cassie said as she munched down a french fry she'd just dipped in Cissie's chocolate milk shake. "It happens every once in a while. Like the weekend last month where I was sleeping? I was dreaming I went home with Zuko."

Cassie kept glancing over at Bart and Cissie, trying to see if they realized what was going on. She hoped maybe the atmosphere would help, without the weirdness of the island. And if not, well, hanging out with her friends was the best way she could think of spending a weekend at home.

"I woke up in New York with Claire that weekend," Cissie chimed in after taking a bite from her burger. "This has got to be the same thing especially with all of us being here."

It was kind of nice to be out and doing "normal" things, even if it all felt uncomfortably like a double-date. It wasn't, of course, since she and Bart weren't doing anything remotely like dating and Sam and Cassie were just clearly in denial.

"Final Fantasy 8 with Zell. We landed right smack in the middle of the plains of Esthar before the Lunar Cry," Bart said, not sure what else to say. He was glad they could get away with ordering a lot of sides to "share" so he didn't look like the pig his metabolism demanded he be, but it still was hard.

"But I guess it could be worse. I mean, this is practically our golden age."

When he woke up that morning, Kon felt an itch. It wasn't the itch to have sex or anything else like that. Instead, it was the itch to get out of the house. To get out of the freaking state. He wanted to get out there and fly and see what was going on in the world. Maybe even end up back in Kansas to see if Ma and Pa Kent were around.

He crawled out of bed and padded into the main room. "I'm going out. Anyone want to come?" he called He didn't figure there was going to be anyone up this early, but he figured he might as well give them all a chance.

Kon honed in on Luke and he sighed silently. "Come on. Don't you want to get out of here? I'm heading back to Kansas. It'll be away from everyone. You can go sulk in quiet in the barn until it's time to come back. You'll keep the horses entertained." And mostly it would keep him away from Cassie and contained. He was trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but it he didn't want to try, Kon wasn't sure what else he could do.

Klarion Attack

After lunch, the four of them decided on a movie. It was just a few blocks so they figured it would be easier just to walk. Cissie and Bart were walking a little bit ahead of Cassie and Sam, though if asked, they were giving the other 'couple' some space.

"So, having fun?" Cassie asked of Sam as they walked.

[Sam and Cassie will thread a bit and then when Klarion's cat come on the scene, the others can join in.]

"Yeah, I really am," Sam said with a nod. There was a weird fluttering in his stomach as he said it, like he was maybe meaning more than just hanging out in this world.

"Especially now that you're around. I mean, you're world is pretty cool and all, but I'm glad you're here."

Cassie turned her head to look in the window of the store they were passing in front of to hide her flush caused by no doubt the same unknown feeling that was making Sam's stomach flutter.

"I really am sorry about taking off yesterday." She said again. She'd needed to do it and she hadn't even known Sam was there when she did, that it would have changed anything. "But I'm glad we're making up for it today."

She glanced back at him and as she did, her hand accidentally brushed his.

"Hey, you're home, you don't have to apologize for going to see your mom, okay? You'll see me again back on the island when we wake up," he told her, smiling over at her. Hopefully she'd be seeing a lot of him.

"But hey, I don't mind if you make up for it today," he replied, reaching out to give her hand a quick squeeze.
