On a happier note, to celebrate my probably-not-long-lived return to the blogosphere, here is part 1 of A TOY POST

Before I get to the pictures, here is probably a good place to mention that I catalogued all my books with librarything. The best way to browse is probably to click on "Tags" at the top, and you will see that I have made some attempt ( Read more... )

Hah, I should have known you'd be along shortly! You have more than twice as many books as me holy shit

Also, either you're hitting on me or I don't understand your usage of the word "buff" :P

Your books are twice as interesting as mine, so it balances out.

Also, either you're hitting on me or I don't understand your usage of the word "buff" :P

*bats eyelashes and pouts* [I think that's how it's done]. My what an enormous holster *lascivious wink* The fact that your costume covers your face and has red goggles is somewhat creepsome, however and no one's calves should do that. Still, those abs make up for a lot.

Interesting is a relative term, my dear!

You oughtta see the view from behind!! (there's a pair of nunchucks on the back of the belt) Also I'll have you know the ladies usually like it when I leave the goggles on

Henry was made by Kotobukiya, I think those figures are basically impossible to find now. Much like a lot of gashapon! I got my collection from various ebay sellers and a lot of the sets are gone now (including the sea slugs :<)

But, where's the baby?

That's what I meant - why have the zookeeper (who you never see until you complete the game) but not one of the playing pieces? Weird.

Where did you get them? Playasia used to have a great line in tacky gashapon but I haven't ordered anything from them in years...

I thought it was the other way round - when you lose you always see the keeper being chewed out by the boss but when you complete the game you see the boss' life story and you see him as a baby and such? I forget.

I got most of these as a present from an old girlfriend who spent some time in Japan, and there was one missing which I got off eBay. Most of my gashapon come from eBay.

I have some of those dinosaur skeletons! Sadly, I was only able to collect a couple of them before the store where I was buying them ran out.

Also, you win forever for the nudibranch collection. And I am determined to find my own chibi Henry Jones...

Do you have any idea what the Japanese name for them was? I found a website once that had pictures of all of them. There were several different lines, did yours have translucent orange bolt-on bits or blue-and-red bits that made up some sort of dragon spirit?

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I have some of the stickers and little booklets that came with them, so I can dig them up when I get home tonight.

The line that I was collecting had an extra red bit that came with each figure. The idea was to collect them all and use the red bits to make...yeah, I think it was a dragon. I only have three or four of them, though, so I didn't get very far.
