Eh, I might. I don't know. It wasn't so much the modernisation that made me twitch; it was more the writers' interpretation of Sherlock's personality. My understanding is that he is basically portrayed as a sociopath, and that makes me angry.

Sherlock refers to himself as a sociopath at one point. He is portrayed as difficult to deal with, which kind of makes sense to me since in order to be that good at what he does and have memorised all the shit he has, he would likely have to be some kind of autist/savant which presumably would bring its own set of personality issues. The character is pretty young (actor must be no more than early 30s) and he is revealed as having started extremely young and there's a reference to him investigating a murder when he's ten years old or something like that. The character does also have a few soft moments, though.
