home turfs like the sea

I'm a step closer to working for the Census this year. Reading through the information and some potted history trivia for it has been great and I can feel the pleasure of anticipation building. A new challenge, talking to new people, getting my people skills out for a workout too. Hopefully all the time as Tour Guide will come in handy for some ( Read more... )

Where do you live now? When did you leave Vancouver?

I'm back in England now and I came back almost a year ago now. It's gone so quickly!

I hope y liked Vancouver, especially Stanley Park, one of my favourite places! Did you see the horses?

Where are you living at the moment? I know what you mean about forgetting what people look like. I need to make a little ID album for people I've met who I mostly know online. *g*

Yeah, Vancouver is a cool city. Besides, a nice city where you can also find beaches and a forest... Woot !

We didn't stay there long, we mostly wanted to see greenie_breizh (which we didn't get to see that much since she was pretty busy :( ) before visiting some parts of BC and Alberta. We went twice to Stanley Park (the first time, we didn't have much time, and the next day we hadn't much to do, so we rented bikes to go around the Park). It was pretty exciting to see a racoon real close. Well, until it started searching into the trash bags, which wasn't so cool... With all the bear-proof trash boxes there is around the country, why couldn't they adapt the concept to prevent Stanley Park's fauna from living of garbage, and keep some of its dignity and wildness? That's too bad. :s ( ... )

Oh. It seems I missed the "Apr. 19th, 2010" post.
Well... At least now I feel less bad about not having contacted you when I went to Vancouver this summer. (though whenever we went to Stanley Park, I was half hoping I would see you. Which is totally unrealistic since I don't really remember how you look like and I don't have pictures. :P )

Those apartments sound fantastic! I really want a home but right now it's not possible at all, I wish there were more stepping stone options here. Those sound so great because once you own a £30,000 apartment you suddenly have that much to put towards another home if you do decide to buy a cottage by the sea to settle down some day :)

Exactly, the lack of steps into it has made me not even bother thinking about it. There is a definite lack of small scale homes at reasonable prices!

In case you want to read more about them here's the link.
