Pain, thanks, and my appointment

Jun 27, 2005 18:30

Just so I can feel better, I'm talking about my pain first. So, if this is getting old for you, skip ahead. :) Last night I woke up at 5am, exactly 5.5 hours after I had taken a percocet, and I couldn't decide if I should take another or not. Eventually that was decided for me by the pain spiking until I was shaking and trying not to scream and ( Read more... )

Sometimes it takes more strength to do the right thing than it does to do the macho thing. Taking Percocet does not make you weak or "bad"; it makes you sensible and realistic about pain management. No matter what is causing your pain, the bottom line is that if you can avoid being in pain, you should--both for your own sake and for that of the people who care about you.

Also, having cats curled up on your bed is a great dream. My cat enjoys sticking her head in my eye socket while I'm trying to sleep, but once she calms down a bit, her purring is very soothing.

Hi, I found you through the community "amputees"
I lost my full left leg (HD) in 2002 due to a tramatic auto accident...actually scratch that! I was hit by a car while I was on a sidewalk...=/
and I haven't found ANYONE my age with an amputation to my degree yet so I was excited when I read your comment in the community. Well..not excited that you HAVE an amputation by more like someone my age that can relate to me.
Anyway, this lj 72004 is my journal where I talk about my accident and my daily life as an amputee, I have a few friends added to it and my main lj is biancasucia where I have a lot of people (strangers really) added and I don't really discuss my amputation...b/c I feel its a personal thing I'm not comfortable talking about with just anyone yet.
But anyway, I would love to add you as a friend...and to both lj's if you'd like.
Talk to you soon,
Bianca

Hello, sorry it's taken so long to write you. This pain thing is really exhausting! I can relate to what you mean about high level amputations--I have only met a very few online. Please feel free to write me anytime if you need to talk about this kind of stuff with someone who understands. :)

I'm glad to meet you!

I'm hopefully going to go look for a skirted suit soon. I know they make baby swim diapers, I'm hoping that maybe I could adapt one into a pad for me, we'll see...
