Holidays

What a great holiday vacation! I feel like a kid praying for snow so that my vacation can last just a little bit longer. I've not done much in the last week, just lazed around the house - which was wonderful. I don't have to work until Tuesday and even that day will be slow because it's a federal holiday ( Read more... )

Sounds delightful. I totally loved your Christmas card! You & Lola are so cute! Okay, Lola's cute, you're pretty. *g* Miss ya! Someday, we must 'chat' again! As for the leaves, maybe the tree LIKES you!

Hopefully it doesn't mind the pee. Lola makes a straight line for that tree. She stands on the little mound of mulch at the base of the tree, sniffs, snits, walks around, sits, and then stands up to pee. She always heads straight for the tree.

I have to small pieces of ribbon and I'll tie them on today when I go out. And I think the tree was trying to tell me to get off my ass and start working out again. My butt muscles are STILL sore (two days later!) from raking.

Hope you had a wonderful new year's eve. :-) *hugs*

LOL, This went a long way to improving a hellish morning. I can just picture your tree, waiting until the wind direction and speed was just right, and then with a heavy sigh, letting go all at once. I agree with pig28let and metalmonkeyman; it is a gift. Next time you have yard work, let me know. I would love to have another excuse to come south. This place drives me nuts.

By the way, yes, your Yule card was *stunning.* I'm still admiring your sweater. It looks like a cross between velvet and chenille. Very chic. :)

Hugs to Lola, and Happy New Year right back atcha, sweetness :>

I think that's exactly what the tree did. Wait until just the right moment, all the while thinking, "wait...wait...not yet...GO!" You can almost hear him giggle every time I walk by. :-) As for yard work, in another couple of months, it will be time for mulching, edging, planting new herbs and some flowers!

I'm glad you got my card. :-) I've been thinking about you a lot.

your card is right above my monitor. You'd think I had a crush on you or something, lol :P

So Gardening, yeah? Sign me up :) I'm so into getting my hands dirty, I rearrange the wildflowers and "weeds" into solid beds. I've never done edging before. That's the plastic border that keeps grass roots from going into the main (mulched) bed, yes? Is that right? What kind of flowers are you going for this year? And I'm so excited to see your back yard and how that all turned out. It must be stunning.

Man, now I wish it was spring already...(heavy sigh)...
Big huggles,
