I drove the 20 miles to the visit that was supposed to be for 5 hours. A lady greeted me and cancelled the visit. I drove the 20 miles back to the office to tell them and more or less either give them a 2 week notice or an availability change. I changed my availabilty. Then I was informed that I will have to pay the background check+drug test both

There is a lot written about workers having the upper-hand in job searches, but I still haven't seen it. I think that employers, particularly within HR, realize that they have no checks on their actions. This is what leads to these issues.
