Case 41: Turnabout Victims

Dec 12, 2010 00:33

[On Sunday morning, Kay wakes up in her bed at 337 Brady Lane with a gasp. The last thing she remembered was watching helplessly as Grady cut Crowe's head off in front of her, right before he severed hers next. The City Hall plan had been a pretty spectacular failure as far as not dying was concerned. She'd really just expected to be droned for ( Read more... )

[Gokudera doesn't respond. His first instinct was that the girl was stupid for thinking that breaking into Town Hall wouldn't end any other way. Numerous people have tried, and they haven't done so well in the end.

The second was that-- well. It was stupid, but gutsy. Plus, she had even gotten information out of there. It was all valuable, all things that he needed to know to help the Tenth and everyone else get out.

It had to come sooner than later too. Grady was getting crazy, according to this story. While it was fresh in his mind, he would go to get a piece of paper to write it all down, as much as he could in legible writing, before getting it in G-Script. Just in case.

Finally-- talk about sacrificing yourself. No one, whoever Kay knew, the Tenth, and more than likely Yamamoto would be happy to hear about how this confrontation ended. Even so... he still thought. He'd have to thank her for all of this later.]

This is very valuable information. Your efforts weren't wasted.

[Dist, being appreciative? W-w-what?]

[that's...more information than he'd ever hoped to hear. so this isn't just a run of the mill kidnapping operation; it's something much, much more ugly and dangerous. he should be horrified hearing that last part and maybe he is. he just doesn't show it, instead patiently listening and quietly reflecting on everything. it takes a while for him to process it all, and even longer for him to choose his words.]

It's more than good to know. You gave it your all and came through. Even if it doesn't seem like it.

[a beat. he doesn't even know if she's listening, but it's still worth a try. he sucks in air, heart fluttering a little.]

I'm sorry.

[ As soon as Taiwan hears, "broke into City Hall" she grabs a pen and paper and starts writing down everything. It was a good thing Charles had warned her about going to the City Hall beforehand, or she would have been in their shoes. Aside from dying, having her memories erased again... that thought's a little scary.

So nothing good would have come out of talking with the Mayor because he isn't the ones pulling the strings, but this woman she's never heard of before, Lucy Smith, seems to be the one behind everything. Grady was getting crazy, too. Isn't he the man Scout got that letter from? Oh no. She's only arrived, so she still doesn't know much about their natures, but the whole situation sounds even worse.

Hold on, what? Impossible, that can't be it! There's got to be more - she needs to know everything. ]

Wait, what do you-

[ click. Shoot. Taiwan keeps calling and calling, asking for clarification on some aspects of the town, giving up after the tenth call. ]

... You all worked hard, huh. I'm sorry.

[ Taiwan finally hangs ( ... )
