Notes: This is a Mycroft-POV epilogue of sorts to " Dissolution." It will make some sense, but not total sense, without reading that first.

I really liked this! I didn't comment on Dissolution because I felt the lack of Sherlock's perspective on it. I didn't understand why he would cheat. Lauren being good-looking and eager didn't seem enough to me, and she disappears from the story after John finds out, so we don't get much of her perspective, either. But the suggestion that he did it knowing it would make it easier for John to accept his death makes a lot of sense.

I very much enjoyed this epilogue. How nice to see Mycroft's emotional attachment to his brother & Sherlock being 'mature'. Pleasantly surprised by the box, what was inside it and how both Holmes brothers reacted to the contents.

They get along in the original books, right? So there must be some attachment there on both sides, somewhere. I'm glad you liked it!

This was very satisfying. I forgot to comment on Dissolution because infidelity is a trigger for me, unfortunately, and I was too busy quelling hurt and rage, though I did finish everything.

This is well done.
