Most of Madison City seems to have power but much of Madison County still doesn't. Ours came back at about 2:30 this morning. Morgon and I both just had hot showers and they were wonderful.

 I got Cataclysm yesterday (Christmas Eve). Not going to have much time to play it for a while (ie, for like a year), but Morgon and I were both pretty excited about it. Also, until mid to late January we have to share a PC. We've got lots of computers in the house, but at the moment only one has a graphics card good enough to play games on. The ( Read more... )

Thomas Hagan, one of the men who killed Malcolm X, was set free from prison on parole today. Directly quoted from the CNN article:

"Hagan, 69, walked out of the minimum-security Lincoln Correctional Facility at 11 a.m. The facility is located at the intersection of West 110th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard."

Last night we watched Seamus headbang to Neil Young (on Conan's last episode of the Tonight Show).  It was brief, but he was actually more or less in time with the music. He's three weeks old.

This kid's awesome.

I haven't gotten the official letter yet because there were some communication snafus that delayed everything, but I received word today that I've been accepted into UGA's Computer Science Master's Degree program for the spring. :) I was beginning to get more than a little nervous about that, given how close the spring semester is to actually ( Read more... )

Morgon and I have been going to DragonCon together for 4 or 5 years now, and this year was definitely the best ever for me. Partially it was because my friend Dan came into town for the con, and partially it was just because it was a really, really good con this year. Some highlights:
