Yesterday, as I was walking to the train down W. 10th street, I saw something horrible. Someone had thrown a glue trap, with a live mouse into the street. I stopped, having seen the poor little thing wriggling around. Not only was one of his back legs obviously broken from his struggle, he was so distraught I could see his tiny chest moving so

the mouse i don't feel bad for. call me a bitch but mice carry diseases and so on. the guy, i felt bad for. i would've swiped him, unlimited or not (well, assuming i had any money at all to spare). i also always help the drunk/possibly dead man on the subway platform. it has made me late to work on occasion. and let's not forget the time that i was harrassed by the 5-0 because they thought i was a dumb hipster, following some guy down wyckoff because he kept saying he was going to die. not to mention the countless cigarettes i give out to people: bums, crackheads, japs, and papis alike. so there are other good samaritans out there!

oh, goodness. that story about the mouse makes me want to cry. :( i agree. a mouse doesn't know he's a pest! in some places, rabbits are pests too. but they are all just trying to be mice/rabbits, respectively! i hope you helped to put him out of his misery quickly. olish's mom used those when they had a mouse epidemic, but as soon as the mouse was caught, olish would free him with a plastic fork and let him out in a nearby field! <3 animals <3

and yea, the aspca sucks on the phone. i think i tried to call them once for an injured bird in the street and same dumbass recorded messages went on and on, to no avail. ugh. what is wrong with people? karma will pay you pay, mother concepcion.

cheers. last year i saw a guy stomp the hell out of a mouse that was walking on the sidewalk. i was so dismayed. not particularly surprised by any such inhumanity, but saddened to say the least. keep up the good deeds. you're not alone in it!
