the next two months are going to be the strangest...with the excitement and terror of leaving creeping closely behind all that i do. i spent the weekend in chicago, basking in 75degree overcast sky, and the bigcity excitement smothered any desire to stay put

ohh, i'm excited for you!! as crazy as all of that stuff sounds, it sounds like it was fun. that whole smoking in the movie theatre thing is kind of weird. the smoke doesn't cloud up your view of the screen? don't forget to write once you're gone. and i have something for you, so i hope i see you before you go. oh and i hope you do put some focus on school once it starts, and good luck with your classes too.

lake michigan is the jam. the only swimming i did this summer was in it. dan's family rented a cabin right on it and it was breathtaking. hopefully i'll get to see chicago before i move back east.

every time i hear/read/think about you leaving, it's more surreal and unbelieveable than the time before. you are my everything, and i hate putting such emphasis on only one person, but it's true david ross, you are my best friend, and my favorite person in the world, and i don't know what i'm going to do in this shithole without you. life was worse than it ever had been in that month that i didn't see you or talk to you, and i can only wonder what kind of hell it will be for the 9 months you're gone. fuck.
