Being from the country, my husband and I can appreciate your way of thinking. I read this to him, and he giggled the same that I did when I read that part.
I agree with those who said it sounds like he's casing your place.

Thanks!! Absolutely nothing makes sense. Especially the casing. Why knock on the door when all the lights are on, the TV is blaring, both cars are in the drive and you know that the homeowner likes to answer with a big gun in his hand. Absolutely no sense at all.

Well, I'd agree that it is NOT the most sane course of action, but here's a thought---
he comes by to see the inside of your house, AND he knows what your vehicles are (he asked for a "ride" before, and likely thought you'd take him IN YOUR vehicle, so he'd have a better idea of when YOU will not be there to answer with your gun), as well as the inside of your house.
So. Yeah. I watch too many profiling shows.
Really, though... watch out. I've heard of too many things happening like this in my life, so I worry.
