"A little to the left." I smiled up at John, glad that he had decided to take on some of the work this time. During the first six years of our marriage, he was content to leave the hosting duties up to me. I never considered a holiday party something John could get into before he told me about his interest in Art History. I guess you could say,

"Pretty nice," she pauses when she spots a guy waiting at the door, but decides maybe he's just confused. "Forget how to use a doorknob did'ja?" Faith opens the door cause standing outside in the cold isn't really the way to start a party.
Door wide open like she was raised in a barn she pauses and turns to the guy, "So... you comin' in? Or should I let you wait some more?"

"Here, figure you could use a warm up. Name's Faith." He was kinda cute, not in that Matt Damon way, but there was something about him. Couldn't put her finger on it, but she felt like she could at least talk to him until someone better showed up. "So you know these Smiths?

When they get in someone takes their coats and Eve again nudges to imply that they would need people like that. Which proves that Eve wants to be spoiled, or waited on hand and foor. Either that or she is just really excited to be in such a lovely house.
They'll mill about a while waiting to see who else arrives.

Eve took the gentlemans handshake and Lindsey did the same. Lindsey probably tried to compensate for something by shaking it a bit firmer or something macho. "Eve, Eve Hart and this is my boyfriend Lindsey McDonald. Your house really is amazing." Eve smiled politely trying to make small talk, but was actually more interested in the rumors she had heard about the couple.
"So have you lived here long?" Eve comments as the waiter passes her handing her a flute of champagne for her to sip. Which she does.

"We've lived here for a few years." It was customary not to make it seem like that big a deal, even though it was, since they'd had to rebuild the entire place from the rubble it'd been reduced to after that little accident in the basement with the explosive. And that was something he still wasn't hearing the end of. At least he'd made sure the curtains were better this time around.
"We had to redo the house after a gas leak problem." They'd been pushing this story despite the rumors for a while now. "Jane and I went out for breakfast one morning, came back and found the house completely in rubble. They're still trying to figure out what set off the gas."

She is probably side tracked by the fact that there is indoor heating and the event is catered. Actual food is a bonus for this islander. Not that she really eats at least.
She heads straight to the open bar and orders a drink, and of course starts to drink. Plus she is really eyeing that table of food too.
"Oh that is beluga isn't it!" She is thrilled. She is eating and drinking and looks just lovely. Not at all like she has been living on an island for the past two months or so. Oh also not shot in the gut.

Sawyer smirked as he leaned against the bar in full veiw of Shannon, looking entirely too comfortable in crisp black jeans and a t-shirt underneath a smart blazer, hair loose and well trimmed...and for once, clean-shaven.
"Hell of a shindig, ain't it, Sticks?" he smirked, taking a swig of his longneck. "I'm thinkin' this rock's finally hit the big time in 'weird'...but the drinks are good, so I think I'll wait 'fore I start panicking."

"I'm surprised they let you in Sawyer, are you casing the joint? Maybe thinking of making it your next mark? Cause if you are? There's a really nice set of Tiffany flute glasses over there. They'd look really nice on that driftwood bookcase Locke made me."

Gwen enters, wearing her traditional red leather pants and a red latexy top. Unfortunately, neither are trimmed with that white fluffy crap to make her look like Slutty Clause.
She grabs a drink and looks around the room, checking for anyone she remotely recognizes.

This was way too upper class for Paige, and already she was resenting coming. Then she spotted someone that at least had some fashion sense.
"So I have the same pants, glad I didn't wear them here."
Reply
"But we have almost the same hair, and we both wore that."
She gestures to her own head of hair, like this girl's, black with red, only Gwen's is much curlier, and no bangs. Gwen tried bangs once. It didn't end well. Gwen sticks out a gloved hand to her,
"Hey. I'm Gwen."

Paige looks at the gloved hand and then back at Gwen before finally taking it and shaking it, "Paige. So are you crashing too? Or did you get an invite to this little deal?"

Even then they might have a bit of trouble.
So Faith mills about the crowd of people and figures someone will recognize her or spot her or something eventually, unlike that tiny mouse of a brunette girl over in the corner with.. is that Lindsey? Ha! No wonder she is all alone, no one's gonna go talk to a girl and her lawyer.
Hopefully they'll come to Faith and she'll dazzle them with her stunning vocab.
Or not.

In all honestly, Linus didn't feel very comfortable at parties. He'd met John and Jane before--and John's resemblance to Rusty was almost as unsettling as his to a man he'd met a few days ago--but he didn't feel as though he knew them well enough to attend their Christmas party. That aside, Linus knew he just didn't do well in social settings. He'd get nervous and say the wrong thing, and before he knew it, there would be trouble.
He thought about turning around and walking out, but saw Rusty at the last minute, talking to Isabel, and wondered who had invited her.
Decided to stay, Linus grabbed a glass of something and tried to get out of the way of the crowd.

She grabs the glass right out of his hand sassy little minx that she is. Takes a sip and smirks, "So at least you have good taste in drinks, how 'bout you order me one?"

A little confused, and slightly more interested in what it was, Linus shrugged. "Uh, well, I just grabbed the first one I saw." He admitted honestly, making eye contact with whoever she was.
"You keep that one."
In spite of her forward attitude, Linus knew they'd never met. He was sure that if he ever met anyone who looked like that and simply took what she wanted the way the woman standing in front of him had, he'd remember her.
Women like that were hard to forget.
