August meme, Day 14

Hello Friday. It's mid-August already and it was dark when I first woke up this morning, so I pretended it wasn't 5am and went back to sleep for an hour until daylight arrived properly. It was dark when I went to bed last night, too. Sorry for the downer, but I see autumn on the horizon.

And talking about early and late:

I arrive way early for planes and movies and things, too - i get nervous i won't be able to find a thing (which, yeah, i got lost on the way to the airport once, so.....) and I hate being rushed.

Growing up, though, and married to my ex-SO, i had to deal with my dad and my ex who would both putter around, doing last minute 'important' things, while the rest of us waited on them. I did a lot of reading pre-church in my kid days, while dad poked at something in the workshop. Ah, well!

Oh dear, that must have been so tension generating.

Well, it certainly taught us kids patience? Heh. And none of us really wanted to go to church, anyway.
And made my mom so exasperated. I find that my sis and i are pretty much never late, but my two brothers...tend to be, heh.

I hate being late but have married a man who could care less. It's maddening when we're actually on a real schedule. Unfortunately we usually arrive in the nick of time, but I want to be relaxed not jittery and wrong footed. He's not doing this on purpose, it's just the way he's wired. It's still crazy making.

Unfortunately, I have many friends who post those, who will share this post memes. I ignore them.

Early, definitely! I strive to be early although there are times I take pains to be exactly on time as I know I will be interrupting something if I'm a few minutes early. But I hate being late. If circumstances make me late to an event I have an intense desire to just not go at all.

So do I. They feel too much like blackmail - like those "I won't write another chapter unless I get XX comments on this one" author's notes I used to occasionally see when I read fan fic.

That is exactly the way I feel, too.

It's courteous to be early rather than late. I hate it when people are constantly late - it's so rude.

I think so, too.

This sounds very familiar!

And yes, autumn is coming. Definitely so. Not a bad thing, of course, but I do feel like this year has slipped by without anyone noticing.

*grins*

It has really, hasn't it? So strange. I suspect in the future it will be dubbed 'The year that didn't happen'.
