November meme, Days 28 to 30

Another month over. Another month closer to the end of this year. I wonder how we will look back on 2020, those of us who will be able to do so. Will we remember it as a year in which we all showed great fortitude in the face of adversity (what the British call 'The Blitz Spirit', forgetting all the complaining, and all the petty and not so petty ( Read more... )

You sound a bit low - but you're right, I think we all are. Your reflections on memory are all too right I do think some people will try to elide this time, or deny their roles, or probably turn it into a symbol of something which wouldn't ring true if we already knew what it was.

Elizabeth Bennet plus Grommit is a wonderfully practical, bright and witty combo. It sounds good to me!

Yeah, I think I was yesterday. But this morning I saw Wombat's post about being a grandma and am feeling a lot better *g*

I might have been flattering myself with those choices *g*

I'll be relieved to survive until to vaccine is available. Covid cases are still on the rise here in Missouri and Kansas because many of my neighbors STILL believe the virus is a hoax and it is their right not to wear a mask in public!

28. Your choice of Gromit made me laugh. I love him.

Yesterday I saw half a dozen people wearing a mask beneath their nose *shakes head* I suppose it is better than no mask at all, but...

Gromit is great. I suspect I overreach myself in claiming him *g*

Yes I agree that the roundup for this year will be an odd one. I’m sure the government will think it’s done amazingly well but I think the reality is that every country has struggled and lurched from one decision to another. I do hate all the conspiracy theories and the anti vaccination people *sigh*

Locally the people I have encountered on the whole have been lovely and very considerate- I’m going to remember that.

Yes, most people have been great. I love the way we all step aside and give each other space on the street.

I'm hoping I'll remember the amazing people who went above and beyond to help others rather than the people who made my blood boil.
