We didn't really get any snow here on the coast, but just a few miles inland it's been lying for the past four days. It freezes overnight, but is gradually melting during the day, so although it looked very pretty on Thursday, now it's got to that untidy, patchy stage. Personally I'm glad to be on the coast *g*

I think the hating your job thing is something that US citizens have a greater experience of. Certainly Mr Cee’s American colleagues say they have often stayed in jobs they hate but needed the medical benefits for themselves or their families. Thank goodness we don’t have to worry about that over here.

I am definitely another one of us who are very pleased to have retired before we had to cope with work and covid - such a relief! I was quite heavily involved when the swine flu was a big worry - and that was a doddle by comparison.

I saw an ex-colleague in the street yesterday and he described work as being "between bad and shit". So, so thankful.

Had to comment on 16. You are very fortunate to have never had a job you truly hated. The one time I did I learned just how much my mental health meant to my husband. He called up my old boss, handed me the phone and said, "Ask for your old job back." We took a serious financial hit by my returning to my old job but I was much happier and we managed.
