I went for a walk along the coast yesterday. The air was misty and the sea was as flat as a mirror. There were two ships at anchor, waiting for their turn to enter the river and they were floating on a silver plate. Closer to the shore the waves hitting the beach were soft and low, but there were still a few people out with their surf boards.

I must admit it took me ages to get used to being retired and once I had settled down into a new routine it was OK, but of course everything was so much more normal when I gave up work.
I wish we were nearer to the sea - I love it when we visit Eldest Cee and walk along the beach - it's so dramatic looking at the sea. He has such a lovely view from his flat I'm really jealous that he gets to have a living picture from his main living rooms.

It was lovely to walk along the beach. I am usually a bike rider, so don't normally go down there. I would hate to live far from the sea.

I went to Cullercoats and ended up walking round by the Priory and along to the top, above the Fish Quay by The New Wooden Doll (which now has some sort of very silly name).

At the moment I'm sleeping instead of exercising in the morning. That has to change. I'm watching my weight creep up and my energy go down.

It's funny how we all know that exercising makes us feel so much better, but it's so hard to start to do *g*

I've also thought about the volunteering stuff, but in the current circumstances it's almost impossible to either decide or commit. Being suspended between those two states is both frustrating and seductive as it means I don't have to actually do anything!
