March meme, Days 9 and 10

Mar 10, 2021 08:25

I was watching a programme about Billy Connolly last night and there were a number of talking heads - Val McDermid, Tracey Ullman, Eddie Izzard, Ross Noble, Micky Flanagan, and others. One of them was talking about (not Billy C, I only mention that the programme was about him to give context) a particular sort of sentimental Scotsman and described ( Read more... )

I am regularly amazed by how easily I slipped into not working 9 to 5.

I can't think of any tv families either. I don't watch much tv at the best of times, and definitely not soaps etc, and the programmes I do watch don't really have family stuff in them. I'm not loving March questions...

That was my problem, too. But not answering them is also an answer *g*

I like that description of the Scotsman :)

I watch one family based programme - it is a documentary series on the Discovery Channel about a family in Alaska that I first began watching years ago to give me some ideas about aspects of life for the elves in my fic - and got hooked on the people and the place. So I think I might quite like to be a Kilcher - but preferably on Otto's side of the family rather than Atz's (which will mean nothing to you, but will if anyone else watches it.)

Yes, it was fun. And the pause was very well delivered.

No, I don't think I have access to the Discovery channel.

As a Scot I feel like I ought to say 'hey' - but I won't because it sounds about right! *g*

Go you and your pootling, which as we know is distinct from wandering... :)

*g*

Totally distinct. In my case it seems to be an indoor activity.

I love the Scotsman comment.

Define family. I think I might go for Firefly or Walking Dead. Found family is much for attractive to me than biological.

It's good, isn't it *g*

You are not the only person who has said that. A couple of other people on my flist who are also doing this meme opted for The Repair Shop crew and I have to agree, that would be a great TV 'family' to be adopted into. Firefly would be fun, if a little dangerous *g* I've never watched The Walking Dead, but it sounds a bit dicey, too *g*

Walking Dead would definitely be dicey. High death count on that show but also people who would do anything for each other. Firefly just has an appeal although I'm pretty sure I wouldn't survive long in that world either. I do like the Repair Shop a great deal if I had a skill comparable to one of those lovely people. Maybe I could be Kirsten's apprentice. I adore her! We can only get one season over here, I wish they would release more.

Only one season? What a shame. *thinks* I think I'd like to learn from Suzie.
