I have caved and bought a MacBook Air and actually that will run an Apple version of Outlook etc (thank goodness as their own spreadsheets etc are horrible). It was expensive but it works seamlessly with my iPhone so there’s that but it has its own irritations.

If you already have an iPhone, I can see that switching to Apple for compatibility makes sense.

Google.docs has a spreadsheet function that is much like Excel, and you can even download the google sheets as Excel documents. Sometimes you have to tweak the little code or script or whatever you call it, for instance: =SUM(C3,C9) or whatever works from gs to excel, but the multiply line i used at work in gs had to be re-written in Excel.
But I google all that, hehe, and have Excel for Dummies as a .pdf on my work computer as i...loathe Excel. But the Chief likes things in Excel, so.
Can't say about mail - I also dislike Outlook a lot, and except for at work use gmail, but I know that's not always an option.
Good luck!

I don't like being tracked, so I don't like google. But it's a long time since I looked at google docs, or their other stuff. They were very basic then, but I'm sure they've improved a lot.

Which means that my secondary google accounts get almost zero traffic of any kind, yay.
I write in g.docs, because it's so very easy to 'share' with my writing partner, and we can read, write, and edit in real time, and if i 'share' it with my other gmail accounts, I can write pretty much anywhere. So that works for me. :D

I, too, am hanging on to Office 2010. It does everything I need, which isn't a lot beyond basic capability. I am not going to start subscribing for a new version I won't even own.
