My wee pea plants are getting blown over, and over, and over... but most of them are at least surviving.
I would be very tempted to just say 'disappointing' for 4 :)
I admit to being an old lady - I get the People's Friend delivered in the post. I started the subscription as a gift to Mum about 6 or 7 years ago, and finally transferred the address to mine when she couldn't easily read it any more as, by then, I had got so used to always reading hers. And it has really good recipes and knitting patterns still, as well as a lot of reading. But I recognise it is an admission of old age :)
I was too, but decided to expand in an enigmatic way (just for the sake of it *g*)
I've never read The People's Friend and, since I am not an adventurous cook and my knitting doesn't even expand to purl stitch, I doubt I would gain a lot from it, but it is an institution. That masthead so recognisable and memorable. I'm saying absolutely nothing about what it indicates, but I suspect that like the WI, its image does not align to its reality when it comes to the membership/readership demographic.
