I’m thinking my hollyhock babies need to go out - they are big enough *crosses everything*

It does feel like the real storms are done now. I hope so, anyway! It's been pretty grim having so much cold weather so late.

My wee pea plants are getting blown over, and over, and over... but most of them are at least surviving.

I would be very tempted to just say 'disappointing' for 4 :)

I admit to being an old lady - I get the People's Friend delivered in the post. I started the subscription as a gift to Mum about 6 or 7 years ago, and finally transferred the address to mine when she couldn't easily read it any more as, by then, I had got so used to always reading hers. And it has really good recipes and knitting patterns still, as well as a lot of reading. But I recognise it is an admission of old age :)

I hope they thrive now. I hope the wind drops.

I was too, but decided to expand in an enigmatic way (just for the sake of it *g*)

I've never read The People's Friend and, since I am not an adventurous cook and my knitting doesn't even expand to purl stitch, I doubt I would gain a lot from it, but it is an institution. That masthead so recognisable and memorable. I'm saying absolutely nothing about what it indicates, but I suspect that like the WI, its image does not align to its reality when it comes to the membership/readership demographic.

Our good weather was supposed to start again today, but I suspect it's jam tomorrow (again...) *g*
