May meme, days 10 to 14

It's a miserable damp looking morning, but there's a promise that it will dry out in a few hours, which will be nice since I am actually going out for lunch. To a real pub. Sitting outside, yes, but under cover, so if it does rain... However, lets hope not. But going out to eat! Whoa, I've pretty well forgotten what that feels like ( Read more... )

I didn't learn to drive until I was 30, and that was very hard. I still don't like to drive over 35 mph!

I was 22 and then we didn't own a car for the next 5 years, so by the time we had our first car it was ages since I'd passed my test.

Lunch out is a real treat. But will be even better if the forecast is right and you don't need your waterproofs and a brolly :)

It was really nice, thanks. Outside, but under a roof, so the best of both.

The aircon question is hilarious - the embedded assumption that anyone answering must have some sort of air conditioning. Some years there may be as many as twenty days when I wish I had some, but that is not this year so far. Where you are it will be fewer days still. (I miss Oop North so much.)

Out for lunch. Wow - that is exciting. We actually achieved that last Sunday at a garden centre near our older daughter - an excuse to see her and her family, not a destination meal. Still, a roast mushroom 'burger' was very tasty.

It's good to see lockdown easing a bit, but I am really worried Johnson won't be able to resist letting everything loose next time round, despite the Indian variant, and we'll all be back in lockdown next winter.

*laughs* It's only 200 miles. We're not in the arctic.

It is nice to see things easing, isn't it. As long as it is done with caution.

I know you're not in the Arctic, but there is a noticeable difference, just as there is in time of sunrise/set. Stuck in the middle of the Midlands we are rather shorter of refreshing breezes.

I'm hoping they will hold off the full relaxation a little while longer. That would be tough, but not as bad as another full stint of lockdown.
