I've been thinking about numbers. I really enjoy More or Less on Radio 4, which is all about how statistics are presented and whether statistics quoted in the media are true

I hope you get some nice Halloween visitors!! We're the opposite - lights out, batteries out of the doorbell, hide away! Also, this season is hell for our cats - if it isn't people ringing the bell then running away, its fireworks which sends them scurrying to hide under my bed if they're not prepared. We tend to put lots of boxes and comfy beds complete with items of our clothing into places where they can hide!
I did, thank you. I had to take my lantern in before 7pm, because I had run out of sweets for the callers. But by then it was mostly teenagers, so I didn't mind that. It was the little kids I wanted to see. And I did. And they all said "Thank you", too., both little kids and teenagers.
I forgot about overalls! I have a set of overalls I use for when I paint walls or do messy jobs. I'd forgotten - but as they were originally Eldest Cee's before he grew out of them, maybe that's why I forgot.
The number of murders is interesting. I suppose it's because most of the nasty crimes are usually concentrated in larger cities that we feel there are more? I wonder what the percentage of road traffic deaths is in comparison - I shall have to investigate.
Someone reminded me about adding -ish to a word - I do that quite a lot....
I think it's because so many are reported on the national news, we assume there are more than there are. If you hear about 50 murders in a year on the news, that's one a week and that is a lot of sad news.
Oh, yes, I understand now. In that case, no I don't think I do.
I was the same about the Hallowe'en preparations - lantern out, sweets ready to go, just in case, last night - but no takers, so I am hoping it is not too wet for them tonight or I will have rather a lot of temptation in the kitchen cupboard!
It dried up here in the afternoon. I had to take my lantern in before 7pm, because I'd run out of sweets for the callers. But by then it was mostly teenagers, so I didn't mind that. It was the little kids I wanted to see. And they all said "Thank you", too, both the little kids and the teenagers.
Ha! I never get any trick-or-treaters, so I have no excuse to buy candy. Though I usually do, anyway.
21 - SAME FOR ME. It's impossible to just *sit*, and if I start doing stuff, I lose track of what's being said. Even watching something on Netflix or whatever, half the time I'm sending off a chat to my daughter or bff, or looking at email, or something.
It's cold and breezy and misty here - perfect for Halloween! I can't remember a time we went as kids without freezing or wear a coat over out costumes.

I usually knit or sew while I'm watching something, but for some reason I can't do that while just listening.
