Locke has been surprised unpleasantly before. Altogether too often. Locke has been confused before, if not very frequently. But this, right now, is probably the most bewildered Locke has ever been. Too many feelings, and they get very confusing very rapidly. He's in his room again, sprawled on his bed, looking concerned and mostly just - well.

...there's a very pale, very tired, and very quiet Anita standing at Locke's door. Her eyes, we're sorry to report, are still black eyelash to eyelash. That effect on her lasts months, per her canon.
She's half missing him, and thus happy to see him, half very pissed off because knowing from Valen that Locke is better, she's annoyed that he didn't look her up.
Then she's worried because even if she's made decisions that will prevent her from dying, she's taking risks, and Anita as we know her may not come back, and that's why she's standing in his door.
She clears her throat, and waits for Locke to notice her. Because seriously, she has no idea what to say.
