For Anyone (but especially Anita/Valen/Sanzas)

Locke has been surprised unpleasantly before. Altogether too often. Locke has been confused before, if not very frequently. But this, right now, is probably the most bewildered Locke has ever been. Too many feelings, and they get very confusing very rapidly. He's in his room again, sprawled on his bed, looking concerned and mostly just - well.

He ( Read more... )

Valen wanders in, looking fairly cheerful, an extended wander outside has done him good. The mood falters though as he gets a look at Locke, he can tell something's up. "Locke? Is everything alright?"

"Yes. No. I don't know." A pause, sips some wine, and looks over at Valen with a lopsided expression. "The Sanzas are here."

"Is that good?" He comes forward to sit on the edge of the bed. "Who are the Sanzas?"

"Oh, it's good. It's great. It's - Calo and Galdo." He might have heard those names before. When he was delirious, earlier.

A long pause, he slugs back the rest of the wine glass and sets it down. "They're dead." Flatly. "But they're not."

Locke blinks once, jerks out of his daze, and looks over at the door. "---Anita!" He grins, abruptly, and while he doesn't jump out of bed, it's a near thing. He does sit up, and that's definitely something. "You're up. Sort of."

"Heard a rumor you were doing better." She looks at him. "Obviously it was over-rated."

She crosses, a little less angry.

"You made me get out of bed, smart-ass. I missed you." Cross. Affectionate. Anita-like.

He is doing better - less pale, less sick looking, and he's well enough to be bored - but there's still blood, definitely. "I'm certainly sick of this place. It's - what happened to your eyes?" Alarmed, yes, but more for her than anything.

And because Anita's typist is not one to let a post go unadressed....

...there's a very pale, very tired, and very quiet Anita standing at Locke's door. Her eyes, we're sorry to report, are still black eyelash to eyelash. That effect on her lasts months, per her canon.

She's half missing him, and thus happy to see him, half very pissed off because knowing from Valen that Locke is better, she's annoyed that he didn't look her up.

Then she's worried because even if she's made decisions that will prevent her from dying, she's taking risks, and Anita as we know her may not come back, and that's why she's standing in his door.

She clears her throat, and waits for Locke to notice her. Because seriously, she has no idea what to say.
