Well. Locke looks all right. Mostly. Other than the massive purple bruise around his neck. And the fact that he's not really moving very much. As in, totally unconscious.
Cyrano doesn't feel good about this - he gave his word that all would be well, and look at the results! He feels responsible, though, so he stays there, keeping watch.
Cyrano might have half dozed off, in a soldier's fashion, not really sleeping but not really awake, like one does when waiting for the charge - and so the stirring does get his attention, and if Locke opens one eye, he will find Cyrano there, awake if laid back, keeping an eye on him.
In typical Locke fashion, there's next to nothing until he is suddenly roused in spectacularly spastic fashion, rolling out of bed, on his feet, and looking for a knife the instant he realizes someone is in the room. "Get away from-"
Something like that bruise and the unconciousness is not what Valen was expecting when he walked in the front door and he freezes a moment before rushing over. He reaches worriedly for the unconcious man, checking for more injuries, and gently shakes his shoulder to wake him up. "Locke? Locke?"
Asdlfk. He flails out of unconsciousness and just barely manages to keep from automatically retaliating, disoriented and confused, dragging the hand reaching for a knife away from it. It's Valen. It's okay.
A rasp of a laugh. "Where do I start?" With wry amusement, as per his usual. But Valen knows him well enough to probably feel the undercurrent of tension that almost has him shaking.
There's a sharp rap on the door before it swings open, the Sanza twins enter still discussing the finer points of cheating at poker, one still talentedly manipulating a deck of playing cards. They're laughing and grinning as the glance around the room for Locke, then one curses loudly and runs to their brother's side, followed only a moment later by his twin. "Locke! Dammit, what happened?"
The transition is easier with them. He knows those voices. Fighting his way upward, he regains consciousness with a sharp intake of breath. "Godsfuckingdamn," are his first words in typical Locke fashion, and closely followed by a quick scan of them. "Are you all right?"
The deck of card vanishes as they nod vigorously. "We're fine. But you're not, what happened?" There's a slight undercurrent of anger under the concern.
He looks marginally relieved. Marginally. "Not that much. Just a couple nasty surprises." He tries to find a grin for them. It's harder than it should be.

Eventually, though, he starts to stir a little more. Nothing's going to keep Locke Lamora down for long.

Oh. Cyrano.
He valiantly keeps his knees from buckling.
"What happened?" He wants to know.
