After watching the mini Monday night for the shipper re-watch, I suddenly had the urge to go back and reread (for the millionth time, yes-your point? ;) ) some of the first great Kara/Lee fics I devoured found in the BSG fandom, and especially those set before or during the mini. Just to connect again with that rush of excitement I felt upon

Thanks. Pre-mini is probably my favorite genre, so there are many many many others I could rec. I just threw this post together pretty quickly. But hey, with ya'll supplementing my lists with your own recs (Tara's already posted a bunch!), we should be able to build quite the archive for each ep/time period. This'll be fun! (And hey, if you two do want to take it over, just let me know.)

Yay! And absolutely, just add any recs to the list you'd like on any given week (maybe next week I'll just post a link to the comm here at my journal so that all comments with recs will be over there--then we'll have all the recs in one place). I was telling Bee it would be great to build archives for fic devoted to individual eps/time periods. There are so many great LJs and rec lists out there already, but this could help people only interested in a certain period or whatever.

Works for me! Next week I'll probably just post the actual entry over there so that we'll have any recs in the comments over there. no_takebacks can serve as the archive for fics for each ep. :)

Thanks for all the recs! I threw this post together too quickly; could have added a lot more myself. And hey, I'm thinking we'll have at least one "33" rec in common--isn't "Intra," like, required reading? ;)

(Oh, and off topic: asked rianeficmusings if she'd mind if I rec'd her HG fic today, so I'm hoping she'll be okay with that. I'd like to get the open post of fic recs at Good Hunting set up tomorrow if possible, though as of right now it looks like that post will be more anticipatory than anything! Would you mind setting up the movie casting thread whenever you get the chance? Or should we save that one for the week before CF's release and do the CF spec as an open thread instead? Up to you--I'm cool with either.)

I'm torn on fic recs, because I don't even have any to offer sadly! I mean we could point them to FF.net but I haven't read many there. (We could open it, but it might stay open/empty for a while, you know?)

Movie post is definitely easier to start with if you want me to do that tomorrow.

Also, spec thread for book 2...I think we want to open that up in mid-Aug maybe? So people have time right before the CF release if they are late readers...?

Hmm it ocurred to me that I never heard from the mod of the other HG comm that I contacted. Ah well. It seemed somewhat abandoned there.

Movie post would be great to start, I agree. I am torn about the fic rec post. On the one hand I'd like to have one in case people do come across good fic, but if there just isn't much out there, I guess there's not much point in setting one up now.

That's a good point about the spec thread. It might sputter out quickly if we set it up too early. I'm just interested to see what people are expecting from CF, and who'll have the closest spec, etc. That'll be a fun post.
