Ok, so this is the current prologue to my Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible crossover, currently called "Bête Noire". Of course, all of this is subject to change when the finale airs tomorrow, who knows what other interesting plot ideas might come from that. But for the moment, this is what it is. Oh, THIS is clever. You know, I always wondered what could be the ultimate expression of Dr Horrible's deeply-held politically activist ideals.

Anarchy... what could be more anarchic than Topher's crime? Turning society to chaos.

Honestly, I wouldn't comment if I didn't think this was great. Your call of Topher and bost-blog Billy is actaully pretty good. I think I'd like to see that explored a little more actually, especially deliving into Billy a bit.

The focus on Topher/Billy actually works really well for this story and you could always show Penny's POV in a companion piece?

Oh my God, thank you so much! I've been reading a lot of Dollhouse/Dr. Horrible crossovers lately (yours included, it was fantastic and I would have commented had I not been in my university computer lab...)and I was thinking I wanted to write one of my own. Originally it was going to be about Penny, and then this scene sort of came out of nowhere and I ended up changing the entire thing.

I'm so glad you like it! You have no idea how much that means to me, like, seriously. I have 36 pages of this thing currently written, so at some point I'll put the next chapter up. Thank you so much for your comment! =D

I am really excited and intrigued by this. What a great idea! I hope you continue it. I never saw the similarities between them before this. And I'd love to find out what role Dr. Horrible had in all this.

Thank you so much! I'm sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, I haven't been able to check LJ in a while. But seriously, I was really worried when I put this up, so your comment means a lot to me!

There are a LOT of similarities between Topher and Billy, which I totally didn't notice until I started writing this. I'm sort of worried the next chapter isn't going to be as interesting as this one, since it's just setting up the plot...but who knows. I'm glad you liked this chapter! Thank you so much for your reply!

Love it! Both are in-character and I like how you took the end-of-the-world Dollhouse scenario and made it work for both characters.

I do agree that DH and Topher are both more alike than I think either would care to admit. However, DH has morals, granted, they're skewed morals...but even in the beginning he has them. Topher, on the other hand, is far too curious (until the end) to let a little thing like morality get in the way of science. It's an odd juxtaposition, two guys that are both so similar but from comparatively different moral ends of the spectrum.

I'm really looking forward to reading more...and is it so wrong that by the end of DH video blogs I actually felt bad for the guy? Sure, he thought he could change the world and it ended horribly. But really, who hasn't thought about it...and with a hero like CH, who wouldn't?
