What do you actually do for a living? (No need to be precise unless you want to be.) I'm hoping you get paid to write in some fashion, because you should be.

No, sadly not. Until recently I was a full-time student, and now that I've graduated I work as a technical consultant (I'm trying to get promoted to tech writer, though, which... still has not very much to do with writing, aha). But all that is just to pay for law school, where I'll be going eventually.

I'm a lapsed architect due to medical problems. I was a lousy designer though, no loss to the profession. Now stay-at-home mother with zero intention of going back to work. Hence all the unwashed dishes in my userpic...

BABY NAMES. Oh my god, if I ever have a kid, that poor thing is going to be stuck with the most hipster, old-fashioned name of life, and I'm not even embarrassed about it. Matilda, Henry, Violet, Naomi, Amelia, Harriet, Ruth... I mean, unless I marry someone with the sense to stop me, this is it.

Or you can have MULTIPLE babies and each get to name, say, three. I like your name choices, especially Naomi, Violet, and Amelia. I would like Henry more if it weren't so popular these days.

My favorite baby names are probably Sophie, Claire, Alexandra (I've loved this name since I was SEVEN, so it is entirely unrelated to my Alex Cabot obsession, I swear), Miles, Graham, and Sullivan. I don't know, I'm pretty boring.

Is there a particular thing that makes you want (or, not want) to write fic for a given show/fandom?

There definitely is, and that thing is SHIPPING. If I don't ship a couple like burning, then I probably won't write (or read, really) for a fandom. It's a different story for things like Yuletide, where once I year I'll invariably write gen, but otherwise... shipping.

How about you? What tipped you over into writing fic?

I...am still not entirely sure how it happened. I read basically the entire internet for Sam/Andy fic and then wanted there to be more? I met a psychic once who told me I was going to be a writer (spoiler alert, I am not) and thought it'd be fun to try? A combination of those two things is probably what made me start. I might be ridiculous.

I'm from the Nation's Capital! (Well, technically I'm from a french suburb outside the Nation's Capital, but: DETAILS.) And I live here at the moment, although I left for university and will be leaving again for law school. How about you?

Ahhh Ottawa! Crazy weather there in the winter. I'm from Toronto (Go Leafs Go!) but like you, I've travelled around for university and I'm back home now for a bit. I will likely be leaving again for more schooling also...though I'm totally not brainy enough for law school ;). I have a friend in law school in Windsor and I think she's enjoying herself there!
