Well, it’s time for finals. I’ve gone on two cool field trips in the last month. One was DeMoines-Minneapolis-St Paul for my design studio, and the other was to Louisville and Cincinnati for my horticulture class. On the first, I found out that one of my friends is a near-professional frog-rider. I climbed on what may be the biggest spoon in the ( Read more... )

Wow. That is one.. big.... spoon. I'm scared. And a little jealous; not just about the spoon but all the cool field-trippy stuff. Did this outdo the world-famous Spam Museum?

Great pics. I like the angel, but the Jesus looks a tad creepy. Is it just me?

(Archetribe? Awright! That's one of the things I was going to recommend to and/or burn for you sometime.. unless I already did and just forgot.. the memory's a little fuzzy. Anyway, I must say that's impeccable taste. If you've got a good connection, clickey here for a stream of album #2.)

Field trip = vacation with school people. Very fun. I'd like to arrange trips to New York and DC while I'm home this summer. Probably day-trips, but let me know if you're interested in doing a lot of walking around outside in either place.

I didn't actually get to the Spam museum; just picked up the brochure. Something to do if I'm ever in Minneapolis with my own transportation.

I don't know if you checked it out, but there are more pictures in the album/scrapbook link. The Jesus was more creepy in person - actually part of a sculpure group (slightly more than life size) with similarly creepy children running toward it. Very weird.

I got the Archetribe from you; part of a world-beat mix you put together for Jodi a summer or three ago. You used my computer to burn it, so I've got the mp3s. I've got the stream on now. Thanks!

Hey, I'm always up for DC (I haven't been to my favorite Alexandria seafood place in far too long). NY would be fun too, assuming we'd have a guide who's familiar with the area & can show us around. Know anyone like that...?

And I'd forgotten about the mix (or rather forgotten that you had the mp3s), so just got confused since I didn't remember lending or burning the entire thing. But I'm glad you like. The rest of it's just as good, if you want some tunage for working or cooking or taking a quick sojourn to Algeria. Maybe we can work out a trade at the big welcome-back barbecue..
