Sleeper Car...

The Vancouver PD got themselves a nice shiny new black Subaru Outback. This is their best sleeper car yet in my opinion, I had to look three times before I believed the red & blue was coming from that thing. Saw him nail two people at once this morning. And the copy inside is wearing a baseball cap style hat to help add to the effect. Sneaky!

Aye can understand the need for unmarked cars and plain clothes officers in investigations, but to just use them for spying on drivers is bull. Aye always thought the idea of unmarked police cars pulling people over for traffic violations retarded.
If their job is to serve and protect, then officers on traffic detail should be driving in fully marked vehicles. There is a 99% greater chance that people will slow down and drive more carefully if they see a police cars driving around.

I agree with your sentiment, I dont liek the idea of stealth cars giving me tickets, but I must say I understand why its done. if I see a cop I slow down, and drive more carefuly, and more aware (aka parnoid), but this is because of fear of him giving me a ticket. but if I knew that a cop would be just as likely in that subaru behind me as in the crown vic behind me, I would be much more likely to drive slower even if a cop wasnt around. I detest their sneaky underhanded tactics, but it will work in cities to keep me to drive slower. I mean heck I know half the cameras set up on red lights are fake, but I stopped running yellow lights in the city because of them.

That is kinda an unushual undercover car, far from a crown vic, Here in Florida i've seen a few Highway Patrol cars that are unmarked brown Volvo S80's. Had to do a doubletake when I saw one on the side of the road with the red and blue flashing from the windshield.

They have some nasty ones. There are some street-bike style motorcycle cops, a couple SUVs and Stations Wagons that you wouldn't suspect either...
