I have to throw away all my Zicam?  Not fair!  Maybe it's just a placebo effect, but that stuff works for me - I LOVE Zicam!!!!!  Who does the FDA think they are, telling me I need to be able to smell?

So a couple weeks ago our sump pump in the basement failed and Keith went downstairs in the morning to discover an inch of water on the floor.  The basement isn't finished or anything, but we were using it for storage so a bunch of crap ot wet.  Suprisingly though, nothing really got ruined - we had half of our stuff up on storage racks.

Yesterday, I took Keith and a coworker of mine to the airport so they could fly to Texas and join a Wisconsin crew that's down there fighting fires.  They'll be gone for 2-1/2 weeks.   I had mixed emotions about Keith being away so long, but mostly I was excited because I'd have the house to myself.  Finally a reprive from hunting, self-defense, ( Read more... )

We had an incident at the bird feeders today.  Two squirrels, a black one and a gray one were fighting over leftover birdseed under the feeders.  The black one finally gave up eating the discarded seeds, and decided to nab something else in the vicinity.

We're having a heat wave. It's been around 25F for 3 days!!! That'll end tomorrow though when the temps drop back below zero. Keith and I are going on a bird field trip tomorrow to see snowy owls, snow buntings, and probably some other specie that live above the Arctic Circle.
