It has been a week here for the kind of wildlife that can tolerate sharing space with humans. A cooper's hawk turned up on Monday and proceeded to sit on a corner of our front stoop for about half an hour, wistfully listening to the family of crows that sometimes come to hang out in one of our backyard trees discuss their business. Cooper's hawks perching, so marvelous! Ha ha, though, victorious squirrel is victorious! No pointy toed birdy gonna hang out on HER tree! Or HIS tree! as the case may be.

Ouch, poor neck! That's no fun at all, glad it's feeling better. I have a crick in my neck from too much laptopping the last couple of days, but I've switched to the other side of the couch so I have to look the other way, which is helping ^^ Happy to see ya bloggin' :D

Hilariously the squirrels did not care at all as long as the hawk was on the stoop, I guess because they knew it couldn't possibly swoop at them and stand any chance of catching them from about eight inches off the ground, but once it went up in the tree the situation could not be allowed to stand. ALL the triumphant tail flicking.

Thank you! Yeah, it was pretty scary at the time, I'm so glad it's over. I hope yours feels all the way better soon!
