A 4th year high school Filipina who studies in one of the hardest high schools in the Philippines (Philippine Science High School, or Pisay, for short).
I speak English, Tagalog, Waray (that's the dialect in Leyte), a little bit of Chinese and a little bit of Japanese.
I love to read, listen to music, sing, act, dance, and write fanfics. I love to do a lot of things actually. XP
PiSci, wow! I don't think I knew anyone who went to PiSci, back when I was in high school. Good for you! And what is it with the upsurge of Filipinas in the fandom? Not that I mind--it's marvelous!--but it's like we're cropping up all over the place!(I know my ex was mentioning that they show PoT before One Piece... I can only just imagine what it sounds like dubbed in Taglish. Actually, I kind of desperately want to find out, and can't figure out what channel and time it's on. *sheepish*)
Waray! Wow, I haven't heard that since I was last in Leyte. And it's great to be versatile--good for the mental health... even if it occasionally plays Hell with the organisational skills. ^_~
Hmm...maybe it's because a lot of anime are being taken by local networks to be butchered shown in local tv?
PoT in Tagalog... *shudder* don't even bother. It will totally take any affection you feel for the characters, rip it up a thousand pieces and throw it into the ocean. Totally. But in any case, if you really want to watch it (don't say I didn't warn you!), it's being shown in GMA7 at 5 pm. It was shown twice in QTv before and they moved it to GMA7.
Being versatile is great, especially coz I need my mental health all good to be able to survive at school. DX
*laugh* I'm just curious. And oh, I know just how bad it could be... I watched YYH back in the day. When they realised halfway through the series that Kurama wasn't a girl. And switched his voice actors. And his gender. By sticking it into the script. Yeah. *giggle*
*laugh* To be honest, I couldn't tell you where in Leyte--it was a very long time ago. One of my second cousins is a Marcos on his mom's side, and I went with him once when he went. ^^;
Likes: Your Ato/Ji Hiyo?Mari Write: Too cliched Read: Too much Love: cats
Desperately waiting for: 1)Hiyo or Mari to meet a train groper! ;O!And the fall out from it. 2) Full Mari description (so that i can do mad fangirling art)
I love cats too much, too--my family is convinced that if I keep feeding mine the way I do, he'll turn into a lion. Considering that he's already kind of gigantic, I'm not quite sure I'm doubting them yet. ^^;
...you do fanart? (*)_(*) Oh, my goodness, that in and of itself might convince me to finally figure out what Mari looks like... I've always tried to put off physical descriptions of her, because, well... she's enough of a Sue as it is, and it always seemed to me like an actual physical description would seal the deal. *laugh*
And oooh. A chikan story does have potential. You know, it might be a bit too traumatic for poor Mari, after what she's been through... but I'm kind of giggling madly at the thought of what Hiyoshi would do if someone grabbed his butt on a train...
*_* part of me thinks hiyo is too straitlaced to even realise that his is being groped...
then i remember his brother and father and there no way he would not realise =.=
dear god the idea of brother dear giving hiyo junior a wedgie is stuck in my head now ~_~
he will likely break is racquet on the chikan head and drag him off to the police station lol *_*
i did do sum mari sketches :S but it for fun only not to give any lasting impression of how mari should be or will be
I went thru all the Mari sidestories and Coping methods and from there...
1) Mari has thick near waist lenght hair 2) Tea colour eyes 3) Knee length skirt 4) Pony built (cough) 5) Adequate chest (coughcough) 6) about 15 cm shorter or chin height on hiyoshi 7) Messy handwriting
:9 and from there a slightly messy mari sketch is born
OMIGOD! OMIGOD! HIYOMARI FANART! *cough* I know I've fangirled at you already via sinsofwill, but the idea never stops being shocking and fabulous to me.
Gaaaah! Takeo giving poor Wakashi a wedgie... good God, no wonder he started taking kobujutsu! XD And he definitely would do just that. I feel as if he's a sadist enough to kneecap the chikan first, and then break the racquet over the guy's head. =9
You managed to pick up the few bits and pieces of her description very well, considering how little I've actually managed to dribble out! It should be noted that #6 only happens, I think, after Hiyoshi gets his growth spurt--Coping Methods is somewhat later in the story than the existing anime. My guess is that she's about 5'6" or so (and yes, that's tall for an Asian girl; I'm 5'5" and I'm considered tall) which would make Hiyoshi six feet tall.
And! One last thing before I have to run away to tea... would you mind if I posted your sketches on my tiamatv page? I'd like other people to be able to fangirl over them, too! ^_____^
What I love is that people use your fanfic as canon... and then utterly butcher it. It's one thing to have them a bit squishy - it's another to turn them into puddles of glue.
Left fullback in soccer - though I did a bit in the goal until I got scared.
Puddles of glue--such a visual. ^^; Eh, well, I've been accused of gluing the boys, too... well, especially Jirou and Ootori. *laugh* I'm trying to get better about that, though.
The thought of anyone using my fics as canon, however, is terrifying.
Hi! One thing to know about me is that right now I'm trying to do a proper job of catching up on my friendslist's journals . . . backwards. If I make a few late comments on your entries in the next few hours, that will be why. >>;
An actual piece of trivia is that I'm a huge fan of musical theater, specifically the music component; in the past year especially I've been listening to a bunch of soundtracks. I love the (sadly rare!) feeling that comes from listening to a song which manages to be perfectly, vibrantly dramatic in context--used right, it's more powerful than words can ever be. I feel. *_* (But at the same time, I'm really selective, so most of what I end up listening to is Sondheim . . . .)
Hello, sweetheart! Welcome back--and goodness, good luck with that! It can be quite an undertaking. ^^
Really? That's amazing--me, too! *laugh* (Though I'm not nearly as selective, I suspect.) Ironically, I used to see a lot more musical theatre back when I was in high school in the Philippines.
One song I particularly like (though I am rather biased, as I sang the female part in college for a concert and had a tenor with a showstopping voice as my partner) is "Forever Yours," from Once On This Island. It goes from being a gorgeous love duet to being rather, well, terrifying, actually. If you haven't heard it, I'll send it to you. ^^
And seriously? That's great! I can count my musical theater-inclined friends on one hand (at least, I think--I haven't really surveyed my friendslist lately); it's always wonderful to find more.
And I haven't heard that one! I'd love to sample it, if you don't mind.
Indeed! I'll send it to you the next time I'm at my da's place, since he has better Internet. I think the quality of the female lead's voice is a bit shrill, but I find the song itself is lovely and creepy. ^^
Funny that you like Sondheim--my group in college used to sing a lot of that. *laugh* Yeah, musical theatre doesn't appeal to everyone--it IS really campy!--but I feel that that's part of the pleasure of it. ^^
Yeah, real world does that. *laugh* Unfortunate thing, that real world. ^_~
Eeee! I would love to discuss FMP with you (now that I've actually seen TSR!) Truth be told, part of the reason I've been writing so much Prince of Tennis lately is that I've got no-one to babble with about Full Metal Panic... and goodness knows I'll always have the PoT girls to help me with my plotbunnies. *laugh*
Since the DVDs of TSR released in the US I've had the opportunity to watch the season again and MAN did I forget how awesome it was. True, the first four episodes are painfully slow, but as soon as Mythril (Too lazy to look up spelling. This is why I'll never be a big name fan.) show up in Italy the series is full steam ahead!
I love Souske. I love how socially retarded Souske is. I love that he actually gets to emote in this season. I love that he has doubts. I love the haircut scene (and his reaction to Kaname's cleavage shot); it's one of my favorite moments of the entire show.
Though I don't quite understand how running around topless in the rain helped Kaname's stealth in later episodes. Maybe you can elaborate on that one for me ;)
TSR IS wonderful--Sousuke actually showing he cares (well, to us, if no-one else) in a somewhat less subrosa fashion was sheer genius. And him actually shooting Gauron! (SHOCK! HORROR! DELIGHT!) I didn't think he would! Though for sheer watchability, I do prefer Fumoffu to TSR--the combination between laughs and life really hits me the right way
