I'm wondering if there is a good, free downloadable program that I can use to record myself singing. I tried using just the basic one that comes with Windows, but it was only recording a minute. Thanks in advance ( Read more... )

Audacity is good. Microsing karaoke has a trial version and I got the full one but my voice and the music don't sync up no matter what I do.

I've heard good things about Audacity, I should try it. Thank you!

Sound recorder from XP works fine.

If it were the earlier version, just record something, say, 10 seconds. Then go edit it by decreasing its speed. Keep decreasing until you think the time is long enough, then go ahead and set it.

Put the pointer back to the beginning, go ahead and record again.

I appreciate the sentiment, regardless. :D I'm having trouble getting my itunes files converted to work with it, actually. Do you know how to unencrypt an mp3?

It's just an issue with Audacity. It's saying it can't open it because of the encryption. Okay, I will try this Taringa thingie, and let you know if it works. :D
