"Tom" goes online and looks up sec 297.5(a) of the California Family Code & finds out that "Dan & Michael" supposedly have the same "rights & privileges" as spouses... and I'm like... WHAT??? Thats simple 10th grade law! He should be looking up Plessy v. Ferguson & the phrase "separate but equal"! What a joke this country is, esp if they're all assholes like Jan & Tom.
The Mormons (who are about 500 miles from the California state border) created this bill. They are cold calling thousands of Californians a day. It is really crazy, but there are some very strong Christians organizations in CA which do hold a lot of power, with the fear of eternal damnation as an added bonus.
My hope is that it doesn't pass but my fear is that it will because of the state's population outside of San Francisco and Los Angeles, where you can't tell if you are in California or Kentucky.
