Hi gang. I recently quit my job and transitioned back to being a freelancer/self-employed. Now, I need insurance...STAT. I just received the COBRA statement from my previous job and it will cost almost $600 to supposedly get the same level of care. I am SO happy. I get to work on projects and have real time to take care of all the personal stuff I've let slide the last 6 months because of having to constantly having my nose to the grindstone. Next step is getting proper time management down. Also, taking a walk today to get cat food and some exercise. Bring on the self-employed life!

Since I just did the deal, now’s an even better time me/us to keep track of our cash outflow and trim down grocery expenses, among other things. Since I stocked up in January, we should be good for the rest of the month on the CSA and getting stuff like bread and milk. Anyway, on to Tuesday's haul ( Read more... )

This week was also the monthly frozen organic food delivery from Winter Sun Farms. This is their list of what we'll be getting over the course of the season. So, this week's CSA pickup was rather fruitful/full of fruit. Which is normally awesome but because I just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday afternoon I can't fully enjoy them. Sigh. I love having Fridays off. I spent the day getting a waxing, having lunch with a friend who I haven't seen in forever, went to eye appointment and got them dilated to hell and back.
