From what I understnad,most of it is guys realizing they will have to stare at this character for hours on end, so it mine as well be a female. ^_^

Religion itself is not the problem; the problem is the *misuse* of religion, especially if it leads to violence when one runs into opposing beliefs. Over-dependence upon *anything* is bad
