Today I was reading The Prince of Tides and had to put it down to cry for a moment.  Not because of homesickness or the overwhelmingly sad things that happen in that book, but because the characters were having a lovely, wonderful meal that I realized I am completely unable to make.  It's one of those classic things that I hope to achieve someday: ( Read more... )

Dude, put Moulin Rouge on and I'm like belting every song at the top of my lungs. I want to take the Argentinian home and lock him in my basement (if I had one, anyway) so that I could just look at him all day.

I get the same way when I see people dancing. I can't even do a good box step, which is basically shuffling in place. I look like a crippled walrus when I try to dance. Two left feet? Hah! I have two backwards toeless left feet. But as soon as I have a settled life and some spare change, I'm getting lessons. I may not be able to cut a rug at the end of it, but damn it all I'll do one helluva box step.

Wierd voice message? I want to know! I've had one where this really old asian woman was asking about her dry cleaning. ^.^

Oh, it was some woman with a very southern voice, calling to try to tell her friend that she was popping back to her house because she had forgotten something at the party there the night before. It was just so Southern, and reminded me a lot of my mother and her friends.
