I just found this photo album filled with hundreds of the most gorgeous pictures I've ever seen. All taken in Japan.. It's impossible to get through all of the galleries in a day, there must be hundreds of thousands of pictures on this site. No wonder Japanese people enjoy photography so much ( Read more... )

(i should start off by saying this is leanne's hubby)

it IS a beautiful place, though i wish i remembered more of my trip theer. i was only 8 at the time. i really do want to get back there though. i don't think we have any family over there though. well that's not true, i have a cousin that teaches over there, but all my jap side of the family is from canada. my grandparents were born here too - the only one that was born in japan was my mom because they went back there after WWII.

this useless post has been brought to you by the letter L and the number 11.

Wow, you're mom went back? My grandma was born there to a rich family, but lost everything, married my grandpa and moved to Saskatchewan. I don't really have any family there that I know personally, but you know, I guess I could look them up. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea though, seeing as I'd have a pretty hard time communicating with them.. It would just be me reading crap out of an English to Japanese/vice versa dictionary :(

yeah, i know what you mean about the whole not speaking japanese thing. i really wish my mom had kept me in the japanese classes... the whole reason she pulled me and my brother out was because my brother was a shit disturber and the teacher asked my mom to pull him out. so i lost out by proxy. i did take a beginner's japanese course at UBC, but i really don't remember much of it.

my mom didn't really go back, she was just born there ;) my grandparents went back after WWII seeing as how they were interned here, but they eventually came back here too.

I guess when I've made the plans to go and everything's set, then I may take a crash course in Japanese. I'd like to perfect it before I go, so I don't sound like a hakujine(?sp). Your brother sounds entertaining. :)
