First, I would like to say that this was supposed to be 2,000 words of Damon/Elena not!fic, where Damon kept appearing back in Elena's life, their relationship gradually building from there. This is not that story--although it remains totally self-indulgent in its quest for happy endings, and should probably be considered an AU just because of that

So let's talk about how amazing this is. "You got Damon Salvatore to wear plaid." Caroline is phenomenal in this fic, she's so perfectly voiced and had me smiling every time she popped up on screen/page. So lovely.

The progression is stunning, the writing is precise and clever and please god write more VD fic. Like now. Because you are amazing.
