So in my continuing effort to combat summer boredom, i decided it was finally time to nail down my list of my 10 favorate movies, as i can never usually remember anything i have not at some point comitted to paper. So i listed about 45 movies that i loved and pulled the 10 best from them. Only thing was i wasnt satisfied with just 10 so my top 10 ( Read more... )

...but I realized recently that I have seen somewhere over 1,500 movies, most of which I have really liked. If you asked me to make top 5, 10, or 20 lists based upon certain criteria, such as genre, first time directors, or even MPAA rating, that I could probably do; without narrowing it down a little it's like trying to choose a certain little ticket stub out of a box full of thousands...

I have to agree with you here, I thought about making one but as soon as I would have posted it...I would have a change of heart or something, there are just too many amazing movies out there, some you just can't compare to others. And by the way, Fear and Loathing is now one of those movies that I have to watch about once every two weeks...I get cravings, thanks for watching that with me!

oOOOoo ooooOOOo, do you get random urges to quote Fear and Loathing too? After loving the movie I fianly read the book and after highlighting about 97% of the phrases in it I now judge any book in it's class to it.

There was only one road back to LA: US Interstate 15. Just a flatout high speed burn thru Baker and Barstle, and Bardoo; then onto the Hollywood freeway, straight into frantic oblivion, safety, obscurity. Just another freak in the freak.

We had gone in search of the American Dream. It had been a lame fucker. A waste of time. There was no point in looking back. Fuck, no. Thank you, kindly.

...My heart was filled with joy...

Milton, if you look back on my journal for last summer, you will see that I made a list of my 100 favorite movies. I was very bored last summer. So a top 20 list is not that bad a thing at all.

and today i finally bought it on DVD. I have been waiting for this DVD since DVD came out. The only other copy i had was the one my parents recorded for me off of wide world of disney when i was like 4 that i watched so many times that i wore the tape out.

If there is one movie that is my childhood, that is it.

With Glory no-where to be found. You make me sad.

Glory is an excelent movie, and if i make a top 100 list as i am thinking of doing it would be on there. Denzel Washingtons performance alone makes that a movie worth watching a million times, not to mention the also excelent performance of Morgan Freman and the great battle scenes. I think though that it's not as high on my list because im not as big of a Cival War buff as i am of say Japanese History (Last Samurai) or WWII (Saving Private Ryan.)

When you get back we should watch Glory, Last Samurai and Braveheart in one night, call it "night-o-badass war movies that rawk in awesome style" or something like that.

Man, I'd be out of tears at the end of that night. And you know Private Ryan's in that list. My god, so much goodness!

ah man, i think more than any movie ever, Private Ryan makes me bawl like a baby, i dont know if my system could take that, maybe we would have to space it out over a weekend to not permanently dehydrate ourselves like little girly-men.
