Discontinuing public entries

Apr 13, 2020 17:11

From here on, this blog will be friends-only. I may or may not delete or hide existing public entries - there are tons of them - but I doubt I'll write anymore. So if you're a lurker whom I have not already added, comment and I'll consider adding you so you can read my stuff.

Hi cd. I've followed your journal for quite a while, since its last incarnation.
If you don't add me, I'll probably just read it through EP's friends list when he's logged on, anyway... :)

that's the way to go.

you can make mass edit all your posts to be friends only BTW.

Only with a paid account.

I might look into getting one if I really want to hide. Otherwise, it's too tedious to go back and edit every pesky little public entry in the archives. I probably have more than 100 of them.

Decided to upgrade. $20 a year is peanuts to be able to do some really basic stuff.

YOU got a livejournal? Probably just to read people's entries, I'm guessing.

Ok, I'll add you.

Hi. I felt somewhat of an affinity with your posts while skimming the enneagram community. I'd possibly find your entries here interesting too, but if you decide not to add, I'll just unfriend in about a week.

Hi, I enjoyed reading what you said in your comments over at gojiraeight's blog. It really made sense to me (I feel the same way on a lot of it, in fact), and it helped me figure things out a bit more.

Ok, cool. I've added you. I can see where you're coming from.

From what I've gathered based on checking out your profile - or more specifically, your interests, your location, and your friends list - you seem to know gojiraeight and his friends personally and know the enneagram. Do you identify as a 5w6 or 6w5? 'Cause your inner processes seem to have a lot of overlap with mine. (I'm a 5 with a very heavy 6 wing.)

I've been identified as 6w7, and self-identify as 6, though I don't know what wing I would agree with personally. Sixes do tend to be the "ambiverts", haha. I've also been told I have a lot of 4ish qualities, and was initially mistaken for a type 2.

I was acquaintances with gojiraeight in high school. I knew him, fourish, and a few others through chikwithscourge, who I went to high school with (and later became cut-off from, b/c of my own issues. meh.) chikwithscourge got me into enneagram around that time.

Thanks for the add though! It's been awhile since I've met someone online(or at all) that I click with.

Ever heard any word on instinctual variants or developed any opinion on them? 'Cause I'm a social variant (soc/sp/sx) and have sometimes felt that certain social 6w7s are as more like me than most 5s. It could have something to do with having been very close to my little sister, a soc/sx/sp 6w7 ENFP, growing up. We always played together and talked about all kinds of things.

If you were mistaken for a 2, 6w7 would make more sense. I never hear of 6w5s mistaken for 2s, though they are sometimes mistaken for 4s or mistake themselves for 4s. If you went to high school with chikwithscourge that will make you a Gen Y, and from what (little) I know about Gen Y popular culture as a late Gen X with a Gen Y sister and a longtime internet denizen, there seems to be something of a 3w4/4w3 quality to it. Finding yourself among the crowd, but never standing out too much. That could explain some of the many people who initially type as 4s on the fora, although Don Riso's flattering 4 descriptions may have something to do with it also.
