[Accidental Video]

[The Doctor's feed click on as his SFC hits the floor of his TARDIS. Viewers see a shot of the Doctor munching on a raw tomato. Its juice is getting all over his face and hands, but he doesn't seem to notice]Tomato. Such an odd fruit. Definitely not as good as a banana. It may have developed from the ovary in the base of the flower, just like any ( Read more... )

They're considered fruit? I had no idea.

Fruit! You know! An organic fleshy substance grown from a plant that is usually edible, although sometimes not. According to Earth biologists, a fruit must grow from a flower on the plant, otherwise it's a vegetable. A tomato is thus a fruit.

Culinarists... culinarists... Is that a word? Anyway, culinarists, on the other hand, classify fruit differently. They say a tomato's a vegetable because it's usually eaten with other vegetables. Quite the controversy, isn't it!

[She'll switch to video to talk now, Feferi appears to be sitting on the floor of some apartment room, looking inquisitively at the screen.]

[Learning was fun! She used to talk to Eridan all the time about science and technology. So this was definitely something she could get her fins into.]

Oh! What else makes a fruit different from a vegetable? I never really ate that kind of stuff back home, so I don't know much about it.

Doctor! I haven't seen you around in a long time...which is odd for you.

Everything all right?

Here and there. Mostly here, actually. I've been trying to get the TARDIS to work for... [He looks down at his SFC] weeks, apparently. Oh dear. Nothing's exploded in my absence, I take it?

No, just the population again, a lot of new comers, no one you know...I think. Might want to check the list.

Anything you need help with? I'll admit, I've been kind of bored, even new faces haven't been distracting enough.

[The Doctor quickly flicks through the list.] No one new that I know, but... Jack, where's Rose?

Hello to you too, the Doctor. I hope that fall didn't cause any damage to your SFC.

I dunno! Let's find out!

[The feed gives Kanaya a very blurred view as the Doctor shakes his SFC. The Doctor then nods.] Everything seems to be in order here!

[Um. Kanaya is still blinking at the swirling screen when his face returns to the feed.]

I don't know if that's a valid testing method, but then I'm not sure if anyone here is qualified on their care and maintenance. Which is actually a little troubling given all the communication that takes place using them.

Don't worry. If anything were actually wrong with my SFC, I doubt the fall would have done it. These things are pretty sturdy. I've taken mine apart and put it back together several times, so I suppose I'm the closest we've got if anyone needs maintenance done on theirs. Not that that's what I want to being doing in my time off. Or my time on for that matter. I'm not so good with the "stable job" thing. Well... I'm not good enough at staying in one place for long enough to be good at job-ing. Job-ing? Doing a job? Job-ing a job? Anyway. ...What point was I making again?

Hi, Mister Doctor... It's been a while.

And I like tomatoes, too! I especially like them on pasta!

Hullo, Red!

Hm. Would bananas be good on a pizza? No. Yes? No. Yes?

Bananas on pizza? ... I never tried that. I don't know!

It sounds interesting, though. But if pineapple can taste well on pizza, maybe it can?

Maybe you should try it sometime then! I can't hurt, in any case!

No no. Not "a doctor". "THE Doctor". Just the Doctor, thanks.
