I'm back from SanDiego, and Comic-Con has very predictably activated my latent geek tendencies. As proof of this, I was about to compare my transformation into a comic book fan to Dr. Blake's transformation into Thor,

"My current faves are Runaways, New Avengers, and Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men."

Dude, get out of my stash. Seriously, stop raiding my inbox.

Yeah, how about that Civil War? I'm loving every goddamned second of it.

oh man, i've only read the three issues of Civil War proper and none of the... uh, i guess you'd call them crossovers? but it's so intensely awesome. I was worried before I read it that Captain America was gonna side with The Man.

I've been reading all the crossovers, and so far the only ones that were kinda 'meh' were Thunderbolts, She-Hulk, and interestingly enough, Wolverine.

If you're gonna go pick up the peripheral stuffs, I heavily recommend Front Lines, which is a collection of vignettes about other characters in the Civil War story (particularly the Daily Bugle and Speedball). Spider-Man's Civil War issues are a must read, and Fantastic Four ain't bad. Also, definitely pick up X-Factor.

Actually, on that note, pick up all of the new X-Factor series. It's fan-fucking-tastic.

Yeah, between the iron spiderman suit and revealing his identity, i've GOTTA read the spiderman stuff.
as far as runaways go, i've only read the first three volumes, up until they destroy the pride. is the rest as good?

Preacher or 100 Bullets?
Preacher is like, AWESOME. I just recently read 100 Bullets

also, 1602 by Neil Gaiman... puts a lot of Marvel superheroes in the year 1602 and Virginia Dare is also a character... Captain America is a Native American, its pretty awesome
