Well I've gone and done it now.  I've gotten the final bid to buy a house.  A bit over 3 acreas of land out in the country.  It's an old Classic style house with lots of personality.  Which probably means that there is tons of stuff needing fixed.  Oh well.  I can do a lotta that sorta stuff myself if I can get myself to buckle down and actually ( Read more... )

Uh... I have no idea how to use a smokehouse...

But hey! Congrats on owning a house! Places with personality like that usually go up in value after time, so long as they don't fall in on themselves. I understand that numb feeling, but try not to think about it. Think about how you finally own the kind of place you've been wanting your whole life!

And I dunno how much 3 acres is, but if it's enough to hunt, then you could rent the land out to hunters (who will sometimes pay a lot) and get a little back to help make your next payment. ^_^

Thanks! Your right. I know it's gonna be worth it for me anyways. I think I'll even enjoy most of the work in it's own odd way. And hopefully it'll be fun finding out all the old stuff about the place too. Apparently it was build in 1900.
