Most medical transcription companies can't even support Vista with their platforms, so I just got a refurbished XP machine - goodness only knows when I'll get to try Windows 7, unless I get a machine that's seperate from my work computer!
7 Professional has a "XP Mode" emulator thingy (I'm oversimplifying) that'll let you run XP applications (like what you need to run for the company) inside of 7.
It's kinda nifty. I've got Home Premium, so I haven't been able to try it, but it sounds interesting.
You can emulate an XP mode on Home. Professional lets you download an app that will run a virtual XP on your machine IF you have a processor that supports virtualization.
Either way, 7 is still coming out ahead of XP on older machines, for those who have a say in what OS they use.
