Ok, so I am on the AFA (American Family Association)'s mailing list. This is primarily for laughs, and because the rants and boycotts they do usually tell me which companies I want to buy from (I would never have known how supportive Pepsi is of gay rights if the AFA hadn't told me to boycott them

When we moved out here and got our SBC Yahoo high speed internet they automatically gave Kevin an sbc yahoo.com address. He's never used it. It's tied to my pre-existing yahoo address. Recently someone named Kim Holtman has started signing up for mailing lists under the kholtman address. So I just got this series of emails. I find the whole idea of boycotting a company for NOT saying Christmas as ridiculous as I do the idea of boycotting a company if they do say Christmas. But this letter does kind of take the cake. Bunch of nut jobs.

I guess, ultimately, these mailings are not aimed at trying to "convert" anyone--it's preaching to the choir. But you'd think that if they really want to bring the world to their way of thinking they'd know that facts are more likely win folks over. Ah well--it's about hate not reality and it is useful to justify my gap shopping spree from this weekend!

What this rambling post is not so successfully saying is that I'm right there with you.

Okay, so I know it's probably trivial, but are they actually saying "hey should we stop boycotting this company because they actually used the word Christmas... even though we just completely bashed everything else they said in the ad?" Did I read that right?

I guess they're asking whether or not they should continue the boycott. Personally I hope they do continue it in the face of all logic.
