so tonight i had my philosophy class and i got in a bit of a debate. the topic was in a sense about the existence of God and how "His people" work. it began with this kid telling of his personal bel;ief that he does not believe and how organized religion didn't convince him otherwise

Debates are fun. ALthough religious debates can sometimes be like smashing your head into a wall......... hehe
I think it's cool that you found something that you have faith in.. but I don't think you should be sad for people who don't believe. I mean don't make yourself feel pity for someone who made a conscience desicion about it.. you know?
It's taken me a while to respect the views of others about God and that whole religious scene... Not that you don't respect it or anything....

i got anoyed with myself for getting so hyped up aout it. i talked to my friend about it and she also said religious debates go nowhere. i guess it just irked me how "spirituality" is not a top priority for others. i need to realize that having faith is different for everyone and is accomadated for their own circumstances.

It's a harsh realization but it's true.. People have faith in different things in different ways... Just like some "christians" preach Sunday about how to be abstainant and not do drugs and the following day they're sleeping around and smoking crack!!! (ok maybe not THAT bad but...) Jim Morrison was right.. people are strange... I think dealing with other people's views is really hard.. that's definetely one of my weak points... I have it engraved in my head that the way I think is right and everyone who doesn't believe what I do should be sent to another planet.. HAHAHAHAHAHA but I'm slowoly coming off that idea...
Good luck though.. some people just need to be bitch slapped and maybe you're the one who needs to be slappin' 'em.!!!

the "organized religion" thing has always been a problem for unbelievers...
i think it's a hard thing to explain... for example, christians aren't perfect, just like everybody else... but they know they need the grace of God, which they are not deserving of... however, there are those who just act however they want because of "free grace"... i don't know, now i'm babbling but it's just a very hard thing. nobody is perfect but there is a flipside in Christian beliefs because of grace and forgiveness... but that should change us from the inside and be evident on the outside...

that's great that you took some classes... i love learning more about my faith.
