Pendragon XVIII - [Action/Voice]

I've seen the teleporting devices in the Recreation Center and Barracks, but I have no idea how to use them. I'd like the chance to see more of this place, but I'm not too keen on crossing the mountains. Any assistance would be splendid.

Caesar, you need not comment. I already know what you will want to say.

[She can't comment on the teleporters, but...]

You know Caesar too, huh?

Oh, right. The Grasslands is a vast stretch of land, north of the Tinto Republic. Many countries, notable mine, Zexen, and Harmonia have all tried to expand our lands into it. The Six Clans of the Grasslands have managed to maintain their lands for quite some time, however.

In any case, all this business started from a skirmish with Zexen and Grasslands. It only escalated as certain nefarious figures started manipulating things for more evil purposes.

[Can you see her little brain working as she tries to absorb these random names?] And then you formed an army... I see. It sounds a bit familiar, almost.

[She can. It is almost adorable. ALMOST.]

I suppose it was the same for you.

Kind of. A big cult north of my village called the Order of the One Way was expanding and subjugating all of the cities around it. They eventually sent their army to seize our little village, but we caught them and held them off with our company -- that's when I met Chrodechild, too.

It was only when we started seriously fighting the Order that we knew how much damage they were doing to our world. I hesitate to call them "evil", but that's how they seemed to us.

Subjugating villages like that certainly sounds evil enough to me. But you dealt with them, right?

Yeah. We dismantled their regime and have been rebuilding ever since. It's been pretty peaceful.

That seemed to be about the same where I'm from, though I had more pressing engagements then staying around for rebuilding.

Did you go back home?

For a time. I set out to Harmonia after that.

How come?

To study at Crystal Valley, a city known for its universities.

[Lots of people in the company took off right after the war's end, so there's no judgment here.] Oh, I've never been to school before. Is it fun?

It's not bad, though I was brought here before I made it to Crystal Valley. I was tutored by the best Tinto had to offer. Unfortunately the best was a rather boring man with a ridiculously large nose and an incredibly dull speaking voice.

[She actually is rather fond of Marlowe, but that's not something she'd ever admit.]

[What does his nose have to do with it...?] Still, that's pretty neat. You must've learned a lot.

Mm. [She did. But she also picked up on the bit about Marica never having been to school.] Have you thought about going to the school here?
