white nights

Have been back now for over a week and it astonishes me how quickly and easily the time has gone by.   What have I been doing that my days should feel so full?

Well, I have been walking the big dog and looking after the little dog.  While doing the former, I saw three snakes and a turtle on the same day, crossing the road. I was worried that ( Read more... )

My friend Leigh (whom you've met, right?) eats no meat but chicken and seems extremely satisfied with her decision.

Good luck with the job. It is very tempting to lie back and give up, but you should not! I've been trying to come up with motivational sentiments for you, but unfortunately I don't have any. All I can say is, don't end up like me: sitting on the couch in a bathrobe, eating popcorn and watching TV on DVD, unable to concentrate long enough to finish a cover letter. It's not pretty.

well the only part of that scenario that sounds not-pretty is the popcorn, which I'd replace with a tub of ice cream. Speaking of TV, have you seen the final dollhouse trailer? I can't wait!

I didn't make my argument very well. And yay! Thanks for the link. By the time I found out there was a trailer around before it had already been taken down.

did we already discuss the thing about inertia applying to objects in motion as well? because i had an exchange about that with nicholas and it seems like maybe i told you? or maybe it's just a coincidence and everyone is always remarking about how inertia applies not only to objects at rest, but also objects in motion.

No, you didn't tell me! That's funny.

I was thinking more about inertia for object in motion, though, and I seem to also recall that in the real world, objects in motion are always encountering friction? Which is why it's always harder to stay productive than to sit on the couch?

I hope you sent a thank you note after the interview! (It's never too late!) That is totally the trick to getting jobs you really really want. Good luck! =)

I totally did! As soon as I came home I sat down and wrote three separate thank you letters to each of my interviewers.

I doubt I'm the first person to think of this, though, and also doubt if the letters could possibly make up for my interview gaffes.

I'm sure your "gaffes" are not as bad as you think, plus they'll probably chalk it up to nerves! And someone told me that you'd be surprised how few people bother to send thank you notes!! It's the exception, I think.
